easter cookies

Part of my Easter COOKIES...
These COOKIES were made for L's Birthday Party... in Mexico, children have Easter vacations, so her mother planned everything for April 3rd, so that all her friends could attend... everything was decorated in pastel colors, and the theme was Easter! Each guest received favor bags with candy and 2 Iced COOKIES... I put an Easter Egg and a Bunny or Chick on each bag tied with curling ribbon... Congratulations L... you'll be a teenager next year!

couple's shower cookies

This week I made COOKIE favors for D & J's Bridal Shower... It is popular that friends throw this kind of party, attended by many couples...

The color, polka dot pattern and monogram was repeated in other favors and also in gifts for the couple... towels, napkins, sheets... I love the tones they chose for their Wedding...

This one is my favorite!

birthday cookie bouquet

This week L. ordered a Birthday COOKIE Bouquet for M., her husband... he doesn't like cake nor sweets, but he likes COOKIES... so this was a perfect birthday gift for him...

I made 15 COOKIES in bright colors... balloons, stars, a birthday cake and a scalloped oval were the shapes L. chose... the scalloped oval read Feliz Cumpleaños (Happy Birthday), and the cake was personalized... I love tissue paper! So full of color and fun...

Happy Birthday M.!

cancuncookies on bake at 350

Today my COOKIES were featured on Bridget's blog, Bake at 350...

Just imagine!
I'm following her blog since last year when I found her while googling "Lance Armstrong"... I read about her Mom, loved her photos as a little girl, and started reading her blog... I was a lurker but because I didn't know I could comment and thought it was a certain kind of club... as a COOKIE lover I just love her tutorials, and tips... her photos are sooo good, her COOKIES are amazing... and today I found out she is talking about... me!!!

Thank you, Bridget! You made me feel super special, and my girls are applauding Mama's COOKIES on a friendly blog, and looking at all your COOKIES and photos... they noticed your black background photos, and asked if you taught my how to do that!!

So please, visit her blog, and you will find many tips on COOKIE icing, baking...

ahoy, captain!

A's birthday theme was Nautical, so ML, his mom ordered COOKIES on a stick or lollies... I had a really small sailboat cookie cutter, so I outlined it and enlarged the image to make a larger one... I also made the light house cookie cutter since I didn't have one... the COOKIES were bagged and tied with white/red curly ribbons, and I made a tag with the Lifesaver image...
ML also ordered 2 Tortas de Elote (Corn Cake - not bread), and after the party called and asked for one more, as her mother-in-law really liked it, and wanted to have some for lunch on Saturday...
Many times COOKIES on a stick break or pull off from the stick, so I always tie and glue bagged COOKIES to the stick, but this time, thanks to Cirri from Galletas y Pasteles Decorados , I baked them with the stick and not one COOKIE broke... She is always sharing and is a great teacher!
I made these COOKIES without the stick for catalog purposes, and I'm testing black background photos... I think colors look brighter and the images can be cut and modified for ads... Thank you Bridget from Bake at 350 for sharing your tips!

cancun + riviera maya: wedding destination

Cancun and the Riviera Maya are a Wedding Destination... considering the warm weather, white sandy beaches and turquoise sea, couples from around the world choose this caribbean paradise to get married... hotels have wedding planners that take care of every detail to make a dream wedding a reality...

Personalized COOKIES are great favors, and I've made many for couples that have their event in the zone... for example, these COOKIES were for B's wedding... she wanted something elegant to give as favors to her guests...

These iced COOKIES were custom decorated using her wedding invitations' font... each COOKIE was monogrammed using white on white icing... B asked for white ribbon, and I designed the little card in white and green, her chosen colors... COOKIES were placed on each plate setting...

spotted flowers

This week, between hearts, kisses and love, I made Flower COOKIES for E.... she plans to use them on 8 super cool buckets for her friends' V-Day gifts... she bought candies that match the buckets and COOKIES, too... Love the color combination, don't you?

I make COOKIE BOUQUETS but crafty E. will make them this time...

COOKIES are orange flavored, my favorite!

cancunissimo

On February, COOKIES I made will be in the front cover of CANCUNISSIMO , a local magazine...

I was flattered and grateful when I was invited to do this project... I had so many ideas, and presented clipart and COOKIES I've done in the past. I was asked to make these, which aren't my designs, but Jeniffer's from Cake Central.

I thank God for this great opportunity, as many people will get to see what I do and know a little about me from the interview inside... I hope everyone in Cancun is tempted by those COOKIES!

I want to thank Vicente, a dear friend for considering my COOKIES... this is a dream come true, Vicente!! I know you are very professional and being in the front cover of your magazine, besides a very long friendship, has to do with the fact that you like my work... I love you and your family and know you love us all as well...
thank you, Esteban, for coming to my home and through a nice chat discovering my passion to many who don't know me... I had a great time at the photo shooting session and I have yet to read the interview!...

and THANK YOU!... yes YOU who have shared your skills with me through courses, workshops, books, classes, tutos, how tos, photos and priceless cooperation... your help is invaluable...

I'll post about the interview as soon as I receive the magazine and read it...

the princess tiara

I made this Princess Tiara COOKIE for C's 5th birthday party... her mother bought her a princess dress, slippers and a pink tiara, and wanted COOKIES to match that theme... each tiara was personalized with the guests initial; candy jewels will also look great... Girls of all ages love make- believe parties, so last year, for my 40th birthday, I bought a Birthday Princess tiara and matching button...

sand dollars in the riviera maya

Last Wednesday I finished a large order of 230 Sand Dollar COOKIES for a wedding in the Riviera Maya... The bride loved this design and the banquet was going to take place in a hotel at the beach... the COOKIES were distributed in the guests rooms the night of the wedding...

All the COOKIES were orange sugar COOKIES, with orange icing, too...
Thanks to Laura from A Dozen Eggs I now can tie those beautiful knots!!

first communion doves

I just finished these First Communion COOKIES... V came last week to order her daughter's First Communion favors... remembering that when John baptized Jesus, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove upon Him, I suggested white doves carrying a wheat spike, making reference to the bread made with it... Congratulations on this special event!

100 blue angels

On Monday I received a last minute order of 100 Angel COOKIES for a Baptism... This design is from Jennifer (bakinccc at Cake Central) I love this blue/white combination, and the touch given by the yellow halo and flower... I used peach petal dust for the cheeks... I'll ice these Angels in other pastel colors just for fun!

spreading pixie dust

This is the second time I make these COOKIES... Tinkerbell and Fairies are in these days... Eyes can be tricky and sometimes make the difference between a nice and a spooky COOKIE... They flew all the way North to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico for A's birthday... Congratulations!
