cookies + happy events

I've been working on many projects... I love that COOKIES are great for special occasions... and for me, COOKIES mean Happy Events...

My brother's wedding on 11/14... family from all over the country came to Cancun... I had a great time with my aunts, working on crafts and favors for that day...

V's baby boy was born on 11/17... her husband asked for red car COOKIES...

These COOKIES traveled south to Chetumal, across the border from Belice... I loved the colors and F. was really happy with the crosses...

These were made for a 50 Anniversary celebration... the couple renewed vows and they had a big party... I had some problems while icing these COOKIES... I was almost half done with the doodles and numbers when I realized I was writing "25" instead of "50"!!! I had to bake, and ice COOKIES again... the weather was really humid, and the COOKIES were not drying... I liked how the turned out, though...

These Mario Bros. COOKIES were fun!! They were for a big birthday party... some were favors, and other were lollies...

and this week... on the first Posada day, 12/16, my new niece was born... my youngest brother told us they were having another baby on my birth day dinner, last April, so she really means a lot to me... my SIL asked for baby footprints, and my mom and I worked on a Candy project for the hospital, that they both liked...

halloween cookies

When we were children, we loved to Trick or Treat on Halloween... we spent weekends at my grandparent's house, and that night we dressed up and gathered with cousins and friends and sang "Halloween is coming!", "Hooray for Halloween!" and mexican composer, Cri-Cri, song "Las Brujas"...

In Cancun, we took our children to Poktapok, a development with golf course, to Trick or Treat... but they never sang... then we went to TGI Friday's Halloween party for dinner... they seldom ate, as they've munched zillions of candy and treats...

Now that they are older, they go to Halloween parties but still love to dress-up... And we wait for children to come and knock at our door, singing or screaming Trick or Treat!!!

fall is here!

I love to see how seasons change the weather, nature and activities in many places...
In Cancun we can't see leaves turn from green to yellow-orange-brown colors, and the weather is pretty much the same year round...
My children say they would love to live in a place where landscapes change according to seasons... they enjoy summer activities every weekend yet sometimes wish the days get cool... or really cold so the girls would get to wear Ugg boots!
Last year, I fell in love with Bridget's COOKIES, so when F. ordered Fall Leaves for her birthday, I knew I had the chance to try them...
